Responsible for developing, interpreting, reviewing, validating, and maintaining business and functional requirements for key ALICO insurance administrative systems (e.g., VBA and the Young System). Will interpret, collaborate, understand and document, application functionality, reporting objectives and desires for application improvement through system enhancements, process improvements and issue resolution.
Reporting to the HR Director & Manager, Benefits, the Junior Generalist is responsible for various aspects of the administration of employee health and welfare benefits for over 500 employees. The Junior Generalist position will work out of the corporate office in White Plains supporting multiple locations (5 major sites) as well as both unionized and non-union staff. The role also includes verbal and written communication with former employees and retirees.
The Underwriter Assistant-II will be learning the process to evaluate, select and retain profitable business within assigned authority limits and under the guidance of a manager and mentor. This also requires developing the skills to partner with Company sales teams, brokers and all internal partners. This position will have a particular focus on the pricing of our Life and Stop Loss products.
Serve as liaison between ALICO and the Local and Joint Board offices of Workers United to explain the Company’s position in all claims matters. Service Executives are expected to master all benefit plans in their assigned union joint board regions. The role requires interaction with in-house management to resolve problem issues. Typically, Service Executives
are responsible for regions which consist of 5,000 – 8,000 fund participants
Responsible for triaging symptom-based calls from clients, assessing needs and giving appropriate clinical advice per guidelines. Provide referral to primary providers, specialists, healthcare facilities, and community resources as appropriate. Provide telephone education and counseling to callers regarding a variety of health-related topics.
